    Answer: In sentence (c),“May my friend get well soon,” the use of “may” places it in the subjunctive mood, which is commonly used to express wishes, hopes, or prayers. This structure is typical in prayers and formal wishes, giving it a tone that aligns closely with a prayer.

    2. What would you pray for your friend? First speak about it and then write it down.

    Answer: I would pray for my friend to always be happy, healthy and successful in everything they do.

    How We Became Friends

I’m really glad we became friends that day!

    (a) What do you think is the meaning of these quotations? Share it with your teacher.

    Answer: “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” – This quotation means that a true friend is someone who helps you when you need it the most.

    “My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me.” this quotation means that a true friend encourages you to be your best self.

    (b) Think of an experience in your life with your friend that suits this quotation. Share it with your friends.

    Answer: One time, during a difficult period in school, I was struggling with a challenging project. My friend, Tapan, noticed my frustration and offered to help. We worked together late into the night, and Tapan’s encouragement and support made a huge difference. Thanks to Tapan.

    2. Look for some famous quotations on friendship; these can be in your own language too. Read and share them with your teacher and classmates.

    Write one quotation on paper, colour and decorate it. Put it up on the class board.
